TABI Conference 2008
11th - 13th July 2008
[Photos: This Years Venue (L) & Conference Group 2007 (R)]
TABI’s conference this year was held in the luxurious surroundings of the
Webbington Hotel,
just outside Bristol a short drive off Junction 22 on the M5.
The hotel offered us wonderful facilities, such as the heated swimming pool, sauna and steam room which many of us did find time to sample between workshops and shopping.
We had a splendid and varied line-up of speakers on all aspects of Tarot. Many thanks to each of them for both exciting and educating us!
Speakers for the Weekend
Juliet Sharman-Burke
Michaele Wynn Jones
Elizabeth Hazel
Emma Sunerton-Burl
Semele Xerri
Mick Frankel
Saturday
- Mick Frankel opened the proceedings with his fascinating talk on Tarot and Dreams. We enjoyed participating in the interpretations and Mick encouraged everyone to keep a log of vivid dreams from now on.
- the after lunch slot was a meditative journey into a card with Emma Sunerton-Burl and Semele Xerri. They guided us through a card from the Thoth deck and taught us how to access our intuitive experience of the card's meaning.
- the final slot of the day was given over to Juliet Sharman-Burke walking and talking us through a live reading on her subject of 'Reading the Cards: how to make a reading a truly therapeutic experience'.
Sunday
- the opening session was a whirlwind tour of astrological correspondences for tarot by Elizabeth Hazel.
- This was followed after lunch by an active talk on numerology and connections by Micheale Wynn Jones.
Both of these sessions were so jam packed with information that we were all hastily trying to copy it down for later reflection. It was much more fun than being back at school though !
Between all of this, there was still time for shopping and browsing of all the books, decks, crystals, bags etc that were on offer from the various vendors. Thanks to those who gave up their time to man the shop, they had little chance for a rest as we kept them so busy.
Overall, we had a fabulous time meeting old friends and making new ones. We sincerely hope that more people can come along to experience the conference next year.
